At  AV Search Consultants we build long-term relationships with our candidates. Over the past 19 years, we have assisted many attorneys with their career planning and their transitions. Many of the attorneys we placed as associates we have placed again as partners when the firm's direction no longer met the attorney's career growth requirements. In this section, you will find a great deal of information on the following topics:

The Benefits of Working with a Legal Recruiter: A good recruiter can provide appropriate job opportunities and offer professional advice; allow you to keep a low profile while an extensive search is done on your behalf; and increase the chances of a successful outcome by providing detailed information on companies and firms.

Partnering with AV Search Consultants: We believe that the relationships we form with our clients and candidates are true partnerships. According to Webster's Dictionary a "partnership" is a relationship "involving close cooperation between parties having specified and joint rights and responsibilities".

Career Development: We work directly with our candidates on many aspects of their career development and have included information on choosing areas of competence; selecting a practice area; making lateral moves; employer types; and tools for business development. You can also find material on how to prepare a resume, prepare for an interview, and create a business plan.

Career Opportunities: Take a look at some of the opportunities we are currently working on. Please note, in deference to many of our clients, we do not post all postions. We encourage you to email us your resume or contact us directly.

Our Results: While AV Search Consultants is clear about its role as a legal search firm and not a placement agency, we maintain extensive relationships with law firms and corporations that can occasionally result in “matchmaking.” Take a look at some of our results.

Tips for job seekers in a tough economy:

People get jobs through people they know. Renew old acquaintances, make new connections and stay in contact with your legal recruiter.

A chance encounter can turn into a potential job lead. Don’t allow your preconceptions to close your mind to an opportunity.

Give up the mind-set that only large law firms have truly challenging work. In the current economy, the mid-sized firms with more flexible rates are the ones that are continuing to grow and they’re competing with the big firms for the best matters.

Think of yourself in terms of “value added.” Do your homework on the firm in which you’re interested and be prepared to discuss what you bring to the table, both in terms of skills and potential client relationships.
