AV Search Consultants was founded in 1986 to respond to the burgeoning demand for talented attorneys.  Over the past 20 years, we have proven ourselves a useful arm to the human resources function of numerous law firms and corporate legal departments.  And we have done so without compromising our commitment to high quality search.

We are capable of handling assignments at all levels and in all areas of expertise.  We begin each relationship with the awareness that the professional positions you fill have a profound impact on the direction of your organization's future, as well as on the lives of candidates.  For this reason, we are committed to a highly sensitive search process that combines:

  • Close attention and quick, conscientious response to your specific needs and requirements;
  • Constant communication with you throughout your assignment AND beyond;
  • Genuine care and interest for the people involved in each step of the recruitment process; and
  • Utmost confidentiality of information shared by both you and prospective candidates.

Our clients range from sole practitioners to major law firms, and from small, closely held corporations to Fortune 100 companies.

Tips for job seekers in a tough economy:

People get jobs through people they know. Renew old acquaintances, make new connections and stay in contact with your legal recruiter.

A chance encounter can turn into a potential job lead. Don’t allow your preconceptions to close your mind to an opportunity.

Give up the mind-set that only large law firms have truly challenging work. In the current economy, the mid-sized firms with more flexible rates are the ones that are continuing to grow and they’re competing with the big firms for the best matters.

Think of yourself in terms of “value added.” Do your homework on the firm in which you’re interested and be prepared to discuss what you bring to the table, both in terms of skills and potential client relationships.
